"Forest Glow" Woven Wall Hanging
All handcrafted right here in the forest.
This woven piece is very special to me as they all are. For the blue/green color I used the black hollyhock flowers from my small garden. For the purple I used lichen. Last winter I went on a short walk just minutes away and found some lichen on the forest floor just after a wind storm. I fermented the lichen and waited almost a year before I dyed the wool. For the yellow circle, that is all aspen leaves. And the fringes that is a Ponderosa Pine bark dye.
Hand spun wool from my sheep. And the branch is also Ponderosa and has been polished by the sheep. They love to eat the bark. They leave branches super smooth for me to pick up afterwards.
The wool section is 19 inches long with the fringes included. 20 inches long with the branch. You can adjust the hanging cord but as it is it's 31 inches long total.
The weaving is 13 inches wide. The branch is 20 inches wide.
