The lichen was sustainably harvest in the forest, and to get this deep purple the lichen had to ferment and age for about 6 months.
The blues and greens are from the black hollyhock flowers I grow in my garden, there is always a limited amount available each year.
I use organic unbleached cotton as fill, and sew the cotton liners to fit.
I decided on brass snap buttons instead of the usual handmade clay buttons for this one.
